Acknowledging SDSS

The following information is taken from the SDSS credits page.

Non-commercial use

Non-commercial scientific and technical publications using SDSS data should include the following acknowledgment of our funding sources and participating institutions:

Funding for the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) has been provided by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the Participating Institutions, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Energy, the Japanese Monbukagakusho, and the Max Planck Society. The SDSS Web site is http://www.sdss.org/.

The SDSS is managed by the Astrophysical Research Consortium (ARC) for the Participating Institutions. The Participating Institutions are The University of Chicago, Fermilab, the Institute for Advanced Study, the Japan Participation Group, The Johns Hopkins University, Los Alamos National Laboratory, the Max-Planck-Institute for Astronomy (MPIA), the Max-Planck-Institute for Astrophysics (MPA), New Mexico State University, University of Pittsburgh, Princeton University, the United States Naval Observatory, and the University of Washington.

We did our best both to make the pages readable and to obtain a consistent look, independent of the platform and browser. There is one reported problem: the font size randomly changes to a too-large font with UNIX/LINUX Netscape 4.x. If this happens to you, try the following: in "Edit-Preferences... Appearance-Fonts", select "Use my default fonts, overriding document-specified fonts", and choose a font size which renders legibly on your screen in the panel above.
