Acknowledging SDSS
The following information is taken from the SDSS credits page.
Non-commercial use
Non-commercial scientific and technical publications using SDSS data
should include the following acknowledgment of our funding sources and
participating institutions:
Funding for the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) and
SDSS-II has been provided by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the
Participating Institutions, the National
Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Energy, the National Aeronautics and Space
Administration, the Japanese Monbukagakusho, and
the Max Planck Society, and
the Higher Education Funding Council
for England. The SDSS Web site is http://www.sdss.org/.
The SDSS is managed by the Astrophysical Research Consortium (ARC)
for the Participating Institutions. The Participating Institutions
are the American Museum of Natural
History, Astrophysical Institute
Potsdam, University of
Basel, University of Cambridge,
Case Western Reserve University, The University of Chicago, Drexel University, Fermilab, the Institute for Advanced Study, the Japan
Participation Group, The Johns
Hopkins University, the Joint
Institute for Nuclear Astrophysics, the Kavli Institute for Particle
Astrophysics and Cosmology, the
Korean Scientist Group, the
Chinese Academy of Sciences (LAMOST), Los Alamos National Laboratory, the Max-Planck-Institute for Astronomy
(MPIA), the Max-Planck-Institute for
Astrophysics (MPA), New Mexico State
University, Ohio State University, University of Pittsburgh, University of Portsmouth, Princeton University, the United States Naval Observatory,
and the University of

Please make use of IAU designations for SDSS
sources in your publications.

Data from the SDSS public archive may not be used for any commercial
publication or other commercial purpose except with explicit approval
by the Astrophysical Research Consortium (ARC). Requests for such use
should be directed to the ARC Corporate Office via ARC's Business
Manager as follows:

The web pages were implemented by Roy Gal (Johns Hopkins University)
and Sebastian Jester (Fermilab). Graphics design by Xeno Media.
We did our best both to make the pages readable and to obtain a
consistent look, independent of the platform and browser. There is one
reported problem: the font size randomly changes to a too-large font
with UNIX/LINUX Netscape 4.x. If this happens to you, try the
following: in "Edit-Preferences... Appearance-Fonts", select "Use my
default fonts, overriding document-specified fonts", and choose a font
size which renders legibly on your screen in the panel above.
